Since March 2021, Tullius has supported several technology programs at one of Australia’s big 4 banks. Tullius has consistently been sought out by the bank to support negotiation processes for its complex enterprise deals which have included Microsoft, IBM, Red Hat, Dell, AWS, Cisco, Riverbed, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Data Centre Providers, System Integrators and other professional services. Some of these deals have involved complex analysis across hundreds of individually priced products with fragmented product ownership across a broad and diverse technology landscape. The nature of the negotiations was often further challenged by the need to navigate exception and approval processes with overseas-headquartered global technology vendors.
Key outcomes were:
– Using the bank’s Microsoft enterprise agreement as an example, Tullius identified a range of products that could be removed from the deal as they were no longer being used, were unlikely to be used or were not providing value.
– Tullius also negotiated favourable changes to the commercial structure to protect long-term interests.
– In a period of high technology pricing inflation and growing technology volumes, Tullius helped the bank to achieve a significant gross cost reduction for its Microsoft infrastructure footprint.
